  1. According to PwC, 73% of all people point to customer experience as an important factor in their purchasing decisions, just behind price and product quality. Yet only 49% of U.S. consumers say companies provide a good customer experience today. PwC’s most recent Consumer Intelligence Series: Experience is Everything surveyed 4,000 Americans from Gen Z to Baby Boomers and 11,000 customers from 11 other countries in Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Latin America.

  3. Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Amazon, Jeff Bezos famously said, “Your brand is what other people say about you when you’re not in the room.” Warren Buffet, chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway cautioned, “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and about five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.”

Rick Crump, founder and CEO of KineticXperience, drove both those points home during his presentation “Advice From An Industry Expert: Introducing Customer Experience To A Clinical Setting: The KineticXperience” at the 2019 OPEN MINDS Technology and Innovation Institute in Philadelphia during which he encouraged health and human service executives to reassess consumer touchpoints to ensure good customer service.

  5. It might seem like a good idea to use email to resolve customer issues or to simply solve customer issues wherever they find you. It’s simple. It’s cost-saving. But you know what else it is? Messy and risky. Messy, because your communications with customers are all over the place. There’s not a single, unified platform to manage your customers. Risky, because you can easily overlook customers’ messages from email. While it may be unintentional, you are more likely to neglect your customer issues and lose them, which isn’t exactly good for business. Enter customer service software.

  9. For decades, the retail industry stood strong. Retailers emerged fairly unscathed during the first wave of the internet in the ’90s because consumers still by and large chose to shop in physical stores staffed with employees that strived to provide customer service. So, it was business as usual with a small number of wary execs cautiously eyeing the growing shift toward ecommerce.
